The Bartons War Memorial Facilities
Main Building
Day to day management of this is delegated by the BVMHF to the BMSSC. The alcohol licence for the building is held by the BMSSC. The building incorporates the following:
The Jubilee Room
This is a multifunctional hall with seating for 120 people. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a stage, its own toilet facilities including a toilet equipped for disabled persons, and a bar if required. The hall is used for community and charitable events, for events organised by the BMSSC, and is available for private hire. When not in use for the above it is also used as a family room for Club members. Unless previously agreed with the Club Committee, only alcohol purchased from the BMSSC can be consumed in the Jubilee Room. Enquiries about its availability should be made to the BMSSC.
Public Toilets
These are situated on the south side of the building opening off the raised walkway. There are ladies and gentlemen’s toilets including baby change facilities and a disabled toilet accessible using the universal disabled key. They are normally open during daylight hours and closed at night.
Changing Rooms
There are two separate adjoining changing rooms equipped with showers with direct outside access. They are available to teams using the sporting facilities. A charge is generally made to cover the costs of cleaning, heating and water. Enquiries to the BVMHF or the BMSSC.
Club Lounge Bar
This room is normally for the use of adult members of the club only.
Bowling Green and Buildings
Day to day management of the green and its buildings is delegated to the Middle Barton Bowls Club (MBCC). There is a 6-rink green with changing rooms, and a club house with kitchen and toilets. The club house is designed so that it can accommodate short mat bowls in the winter. See the Middle barton Bowls Club page for more details.

There are two pitches: the main one has a railed fence around it and is currently used by Longford Park FC as a home ground for two of their teams who have sole use apart from charitable and memorial matches, and community events. It is not available for general use. The area of the second pitch is currently not marked out and is used for ad-hoc games. Enquiries about the pitches should be made to [email protected]
Children Playground
This includes a zip wire, junior multiplay, toddler multiplay, trim trail, swings, sandpit and spring mounted toddler rides. It is currently in need of a full refurbishment for which the Charity needs to raise at least £70,000.
Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)
This has two courts: one for tennis and netball and one for basketball and football. It is generally available for residents to use free of charge but specific hiring may be possible. Contact [email protected] for details.
Youth Shelter
This is located just inside the pedestrian entry from the Worton Road. It is provided by the Steeple Barton Parish Council as a meeting point for the youth of the village. SBPC is responsible for its maintenance.
